TabTrade Review - The Good and the Catch
TabTrade — What It Is
TabTrade opened in Q1 2026. Online broker registered in Saint Lucia, licensed through Saint Lucia's FSRA. The person who started it is Benjamin Boulter. Previously, he was a senior exec at BlackBull Markets, an New Zealand-regulated broker.
That last detail is relevant. It suggests the person running this knows how a proper broker operates. Does not guarantee anything. It is more reassuring than someone with no brokerage experience.
They launched with execution through Equinix servers. Same data centres prime brokers run on. The typical new launch starts with a white-label MT4 setup. Tab Trade did the opposite. Unusual for a new broker.
Market coverage: forex, indices, gold, silver, oil, energies, softs, equities, cryptocurrencies, ETFs. 1,000+. For something that launched in March 2026, that coverage is not narrow.
What You Trade On
Available: MT5, cTrader, and web trading. Both MT5 and cTrader from the same login. Many commit to either MT5 or cTrader. Having both is useful. Pick what suits your style.
MetaTrader 5 is the industry standard. Full charting, automated trading, tons of scripts and indicators. If you have traded on a MetaQuotes platform before, you know exactly what you are getting.
cTrader is the cleaner option. Better DOM. Faster charting. cBot support. Many people find it more natural after using both.
FIX API is available for algo traders but requires the VIP tier ($25,000 deposit). TradingView charting is reportedly coming. That would make the platform set once it is live.
Accounts and Pricing
Three account types: Standard, Edge, VIP.
Standard. Spread starts at 1.0 pips. Zero commission. Easy to track. Zero deposit requirement. Good for beginners.
Edge account. Interbank-style spreads from 0.0 pips on average. Flat commission of $3.50 each way. Total cost: spread plus $7 per lot round-turn. On majors, the actual interbank spread is often under 0.2 pips. So your actual cost per trade sometimes sits below 0.5 pips. That is cheap for a broker with $0 to start. Most platforms that have spreads this tight require a minimum deposit. Tab Trade has no minimum.
VIP account. $25k to open. FIX API, sub-20ms execution, custom pricing. Not relevant to most retail traders. Ignore this one unless you move real size.
Execution Speed
The speed is the area where Tab Trade stands apart. Equinix servers in London. Under 30ms on Edge. Below 20ms on VIP. These are not marketing fluff. Most retail brokers operate at hundreds of milliseconds.
Should you care? If you scalp, it does. The gap between fast execution and sluggish execution is catching the move or missing it. If you trade higher timeframes, it matters less. The point is the infrastructure is there. That is they are not cutting corners on the tech.
Pair that infrastructure with raw spreads at $3.50 per side and the overall offering is strong. Few brokers with no minimum deposit run Equinix connectivity.
The FSRA Question
This is the part that requires honesty. Tab Trade is under Saint Lucia's FSRA. That is offshore. No ASIC. No fund protection scheme. If the lack of tier-1 regulation is a dealbreaker, look elsewhere. Plenty of tier-1 alternatives out there.
But. The person running it built his career at BlackBull Markets, a proper broker. The Equinix infrastructure is expensive. Dodgy operations do not invest in tier-1 data centre access. This does not make it safe. It does factor into your assessment.
The trade-off: you trade regulatory safety. For that: 1:1000 leverage, raw pricing from 0.0 pips, no minimum deposit, fast fills. Whether the trade-off makes sense depends on you.
The Bonus
TabTrade offers bonus funds of up to $2,000. Standard deposit match. You fund your account, the broker add bonus funds. The normal fine print: minimum lots traded before bonus funds can be taken out. Check the terms before funding.
